Power Cut

Introduction
I'm sure Storm Eowyn affected us all in different ways. Some may have suffered damage to property, fallen trees and the like.
For me and my family, we had no electricity for 4 days, due to a large electric pole snapping like a twig in a field we could see from our house.
Quite simply we suffered a power cut!
We were disconnected from the power source.
Thankfully it's been restored but upon reflection there is a parallel between what we experienced in the natural and the spiritual realm.
Spiritual Parallel
It seems to me that the church - and you and I as members of Christ's body - are suffering from a power cut.
There is a break in the supply of dunamis power that Jesus promised in Luke 24v49 and Acts 1v8.
Luke 24:49
49“Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
Acts 1v8
8“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The reality is that in our circumstance we had to make our own light because of the power cut but it was an inferior light, it wasn't as effective, it didn't light the whole house.
Yes the candles, torch, and phones give some light but it was nothing in comparison to being connected to the power supply from the grid!
I'm sorry but in most cases the church as we know it, has been getting by with producing it's own light but my word it's inferior to the real light that is ONLY produced by being connected to the true power source, the Holy Ghost, the power from on High.
It's time we stopped settling for the man produced inferior light and started to seek and yearn for the true and dynamic, wonder working power of God.
For too long we have got by with candles, so to speak and inferior sources of light, which are ineffective against the darkness.
The light that comes from being connected to heaven's power grid dispels the darkness, in fact John's gospel tells us, the darkness cannot overcome it. John 1v5.
In Isaiah 60 we read of a time when heaven's light and glory will be seen upon the people of God.
1¶Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
2For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the LORD will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
To defeat the darkness we need to unite with a common purpose and that it to be connected to heaven's power grid, to seek the power from on High, to equip and empower us to be effective witnesses and to drive back the darkness and see those who are bound in darkness delivered and set free.
Nothing else will do but nothing else is needed.
It's time to be honest with ourselves and humble ourselves before the Lord and ask Him for forgiveness for settling for the inferior substitutes, the gimmicks, the man produced light which is no match for the darkness.
The early church needed it to face and overcome the darkness in their day, the tyranny of Rome, the religious persecution from the Jewish authorities, the wickedness and godliness of a world without God and without hope.
How much more do we need it in our day, when darkness permeates every part of our society, wickedness is tolerated and celebrated and deception is rife and the mystery of iniquity advances at pace.
We can try to ignore it and think of the sweet bye and bye or by trusting in a false hope that we will not have to face tribulation or persecution but scripture clearly tells us that the darkness is going to get very dark before the Lord returns in power and glory to put down all rule and authority and defeat the Antichrist and his Satanically empowered kingdom.
I saw someone posting an excerpt from a message of a famous preacher who was misleading people by saying that everything after Revelation 4 was dealing with the Great Tribulation and we won't be here on the basis of a verse taken out of context in Revelation 4v1 when John is told to "Come up here and I will show you things that will take place after this".
It's quite a stretch to say that this is a reference to the rapture and downright wrong to attribute everything from Chapter 5-19 to the Great Tribulation. No distinction was made about the Day of The Lord trumpet and vial judgements which occur immediately after the tribulation of those days when God's wrath is heralded by the sun being darkened and the moon being turned to blood. Matthew 24v29.
Look folks I didn't say it or make it up, Jesus Himself said it but because a big name preacher asserts that it is so, everyone listens and is deceived.
Where is the discernment?
Where is the "rightly dividing the Word of Truth?
Where is the Berean principle? They just didn't take Paul's word for it they searched the scriptures and checked that what he was saying lined up with the Bible.
But because a famous preacher says it everyone opens their mouth and receives what is being said and yet when someone like myself shows and demonstrates - consistently and regularly from scripture - and by comparing scripture with scripture that the church will go through the Great Tribulation but will be raptured just prior to the Day of The Lord no one takes a blind bit of heed!
Folks a Watchman is looking out for your soul, he issues warning after warning and you would do well to hear and take heed.
The hireling runs when the wolf comes for the sheep.
Where will all the big name preachers be when those who they have misled are not prepared to face what is coming on the earth?
It will be too late - and we will need to be empowered and connected to heaven's power grid to endure, overcome and storm the gates of hell to win souls and see men and woman delivered form the wrath that is to come!
We need to have our thinking aligned with what the scriptures say not what with what preachers tell us that appeals to us and is what we want to hear.
Jesus said, In the world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world. John 16v31
He didn't promise us a persecution or trouble free life but He did promise us victory and power to overcome.
But I for one know, that to do so I need to be connected to heaven's power grid because I don't have the ability, strength or resolve to endure or to overcome. I fear that like Peter, I would deny the Lord, even though my best intentions and heart, would like, Peter, want to lay down my life for Him.
Lord endue us with power from on High once again.
Send the fire Lord!
1 Thou Christ of burning, cleansing flame,
Send the fire!
Thy blood-bought gift today we claim,
Send the fire!
Look down and see this waiting host,
Give us the promised Holy Ghost,
We want another Pentecost,
Send the fire!
2 God of Elijah, hear our cry:
Send the fire!
To make us fit to live or die,
Send the fire!
To burn up every trace of sin,
To bring the light and glory in,
The revolution now begin,
Send the fire!
3 ‘Tis fire we want, for fire we plead,
Send the fire!
The fire will meet our every need,
Send the fire!
For strength to ever do the right,
For grace to conquer in the fight,
For power to walk the world in white,
Send the fire!
4 To make our weak hearts strong and brave,
Send the fire!
To live a dying world to save,
Send the fire!
O see us on thy altar lay
Our lives, our all, this very day,
To crown the offering now we pray,
Send the fire!
Just read the words of this wonderful hymn written by William Booth the founder of the Salvation Army and let the words sink in.
This hymn encapsulates and captures the church's great need of this last hour.
William Booth realised the great need of being connected to heaven's power grid to meet the great need that confronted him in his day.
It's time for us to humble ourselves and desire the fire of the Holy Ghost.
Tis fire we want for fire we plead - less churchiness and less playing and a true cry is needed for God to answer us and send the fire!
Elijah showed his generation that God was the God who answered by fire.

We need to return to our foundations and the source of our power, so that we can live or die, to burn up the sin and rebellion in our hearts and to bring the light and glory of God.
The revolution now begin!!
We need a spiritual revolution in the Body of Christ - we need the cosiness of our religious settings and our all too familiar meetings and services interrupted by the God who answers by fire!
Now, we have a choice - we can continue in the powerlessness and irrelevancy that is the church system or we can be part of the remnant, who "come out of her my people", who choose God's way and like Moses and Joshua, go without the camp, to experience and walk in the glory of God. Exodus 34.
These men of God, like the apostles and William Booth, Smith Wigglesworth, Charles Wesley and many others down through the centuries, knew the secret of being connected to heaven's power grid!
They knew the fire would meet their every need and they had power to walk the world in white, they had strength to ever do the right and they had grace to conquer in the fight.
Awh, hear the heart of God today, He longs to come upon His church in power once more. He longs to hear a people - a remnant who will hear and obey and cry to Him - plead for His glory to once again be revealed and experienced, so that we can live a dying world to save and we can have our weak hearts made strong and brave.
A people who are willing to lay down their lives, their all, on the altar of sacrifice, so that He can once again be seen in the midst of us His people, His ekklesia, His Body.
Don't treat this as the ravings of someone who keeps on about the same thing - no, receive with meekness the engrafted Word which is able to save our souls.
These are not the ravings of a fanatic but the sincere heartfelt and God given words of a messenger, who is simple enough to say Lord, if you want me to share this I will, even if it is unpopular because it might challenge the status quo and expose the "golden calf" of churchianity that we so often cling too.
The Lord downloaded the framework of this message into my heart as I waited upon Him on Tuesday night. I didn't ask for it but within 10 minutes He imparted the essence of what you are reading. That's how I know it's from Him. When he downloads/imparts something then I don't have to work for it, I just receive it by grace and it's not a complicated or tasking thing. That's how the Lord imparts revelation to me. It's not my doing or because I'm this or that, it's all Him. The Holy Ghost is a wonderful and gracious teacher and helper.
Jesus loves us and because He does He will speak and challenge and He will patiently plead with us to come to Him, to return to the old paths and the good way, the prescribed and ordained way.
That way is "another Pentecost".
He hasn't changed His Modus Operandi (MO) (the way He operates). He hasn't suddenly adopted a new way of operating just because it's the 21st century.
At the start of the 20th century He visited those who were willing and obeyed His voice with another Pentecost and many many times He has poured out His Spirit on those who are thirsty and water on the dry ground.
We need to get thirsty, tired and sick of the inferior light that is disconnected from heaven's power grid,
The Lord is seeking a people, a remnant, who will go outside the camp bearing His reproach but in being willing and obedient, will receive power from on High.
Will you be in that number?
God Bless.
Lord may your Word not return unto you void but prosper in the hearts of your people,
May it find good ground and bring forth a harvest, 30, 60 and 100 fold,
May your sovereign will be done and your Kingdom come into our hearts,
Be glorified Lord Jesus. Amen.
