A Call to the Remnant

This is a recent post to the Facebook Group

Mark 6v54-56

54And when they came out of the boat, immediately the people recognised Him,

55And ran through that whole surrounding region, and began to carry about on beds those who were sick to wherever they heard He was.

56Wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made well.

Oh for Jesus to so reveal Himself through His true church to this generation.

That's what happens when the supernatural power of God is at work.

Men and women will get excited and have an expectation that the Lord is the answer.

We need "power from on high".

To bring light where there is darkness, hope where there is hopelessness and despair and life where there is death.

When Jesus arrived the people RECOGNISED HIM. They knew WHO HE WAS AND WHAT HE COULD DO.

He wasn't powerless like the religious leaders. He spoke with authority so much so that the demons obeyed Him, the wind and storm obeyed Him and sickness and death fled from before Him.

Does this generation see and recognise the real Jesus? The Almighty, Preeminent, Omnipotent and Life Imparting Son of God.

Or do they see and hear lifeless religious leaders, blind leaders of the blind who have a form of godliness but deny it's power?

It's time to awaken!

It's time to stop playing church!

It's time to be real!

It's time to humble ourselves under God's mighty hand!

It's time to admit we fall far short of what He has called us to be!

It's time to wait on the Lord until he endues us with power from high!

Nothing less will reveal Jesus in all His glory to this last generation.

The early church needed power from on high and we need it.

The first step is admitting it.

God is looking for a remnant in this hour who will follow the Lamb and will depend absolutely upon the Holy Spirit.

New wine needs new wineskins.

The old order, the "we have always done this way", the denominational traditions (including Pentecostal traditions) and ways of man cannot hold the new wine.

Will we let the Holy Spirit make and mould us into the new wineskins that will carry His life, power, truth and presence to this generation?

Are we willing to go God's way even if it means loss, even if it takes us out of our comfort zone, even if we have to leave everything we hold dear behind?

Are we willing to leave behind family, church life, friends, all the church activities we are involved in, ministry in the church system, the security and comfort of what we are accustomed too?

You see Paul had all the religious comforts, an Hebrew of the Hebrews, knew the law inside out, he was full of zeal as a Pharisee even persecuting the church Philippians 3v4-8 but he said that what was dear to him he counted loss for Christ, in fact he suffered the loss of everything he knew and counted it all but dung!

Are we willing to count everything we hold dear as dung?

Are we willing to say Lord you are first. You will have the preeminence, even if that means I have to give up everything I have known including all my Christian friends who just want the superficiality of playing at church. I'm willing to let you reveal to me the superficiality of my experience, the religiousity that I hold so dear, the churchianity that I cleave too.

Lord I'm willing to let you strip it all away that I might be the vessel you have called me to be in this last hour.

That could mean that you have to join with people who want more and are totally dissatisfied with churchianity and are willing to face the ridicule of not doing things the way that man says we should be doing it, in other words, in the orthodox, traditional way.

I tell you from experience that when the Lord puts that dissatisfaction in your heart you can't tolerate the superficiality of it all. No matter how glitzed up it is, how organised, how popular. You can't stick it. The death is nauseating. The letter that kills abhorrent.

God wants to create a holy dissatisfaction in us His people.

He will have a remnant who follow the cloud and not the crowd.

He will have a people who Will obey Him and conform only to His ways and Word. Even if that means they are characterised as a bit waky because they don't do it the old way and refuse to tolerate or be conformed to the church system and it's Spirit stifling and quenching culture.

Yes that's right, much if not all, of what we call "church" stifles and quenches the Spirit of God and we wonder why there is death and nothing is achieved!

We are the Church. Not the building we attend so dutifully twice on a Sunday.

If buildings and meetings was how God would reach and save our nation then it would have been swept by the power of God long long ago.

But it's not the building, or the church schedule of meetings (breaking of bread, gospel meeting Sunday night, prayer meeting, bible study, youth meeting, women's meeting, men's meeting and it goes on and on and on) or the programmes for church growth or the missions or outreach. Can you see how ridiculous it all is?

Isaiah 1v12-15

12“When you come to appear before Me,

Who has required this from your hand,

To trample My courts?

13Bring no more futile sacrifices;

Incense is an abomination to Me.

The New Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies—

I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting.

14Your New Moons and your appointed feasts

My soul hates;

They are a trouble to Me,

I am weary of bearing them.

15When you spread out your hands,

I will hide My eyes from you;

Even though you make many prayers,

I will not hear.

Your hands are full of blood.

You see we have the historical precedent. The people of Israel had wearied God with their meetings and religious activities. Basically God was sick of the superficiality and religiousity!

The Lord appeared to over 500 of His followers after His resurrection (1 Corinthians 15v6) In Luke 24 he told the disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high v49.

120 went to the upper room in obedience to what Jesus told them to do. I suggest that more than 500 knew about Jesus' command to tarry but only 120 went, tarried and received the promised outpouring.

I don't know about you but I want to be one of the 120 as it where in this day.

If that means I'm ridiculed for coming out of that which is controlled by man so that I can come into that which is ordained of God then so be it!

The early church met from house to house. They forsook what they knew so that they could enter into the supernatural realm where they became effective and powerful witnesses for Christ.

They turned the world of their day upside down.

I ask you the question today are you just waiting to escape and go to heaven or are you waiting on the Lord, so that you might be endued with power from on high, meaning you are fully equipped and empowered, to be part of the greatest move of God this world has ever seen, so that the endtime harvest can be reaped?

The fields are white unto harvest but the labourers are few. Pray ye that the Lord of the harvest will send forth labourers into the harvest. John 4v35 and Luke 10v2.

The Lord of the harvest wants to send forth labourers in this last hour. Not Bible college graduates, not professional clergy, not those who are confident in their own ability.

No. He wants to send forth labourers that He has moulded, prepared and equipped.
