The Message not the Messenger

Message I shared on Facebook page.
I just want to share my heart with you today.
Since I set up the website and started to share the message that I believe the Lord has placed in my heart, it's been anything but easy.
I've been bombarded with thoughts like, Who do you think you are?
Nobody wants to hear?
You're wasting your time?
Discouragement, doubt and now and again disillusionment have all attacked my mind.
But the reality is none of this is about me.
I'm just the messenger or as Pastor Dempster used to say the Postboy.
You see it's none of my business, whether people receive the message or don't, love it or loathe it or ignore it.
When the postman delivers our mail, his job is clear. Make sure you deliver the mail to the right address and your job is done. He or she doesn't concern themselves with whether or not we open the mail, read it or respond to it. He or she doesn't check the next day to see if we opened what was delivered.
It's the same for us as God's messengers (whether the Body of Christ recognise us as such or not). Our job is to deliver the message and hit the target. After that our job is done.
You see the Body of Christ is not always a great source of encouragement, in fact, a lot of times in my experience, it's the exact opposite.
I've let brothers and sisters know that I have started sharing God's word via the website and asked them to pray. Many have just ignored me and not even responded. I've invited others to join this group on Facebook. Again ignored. Not exactly encouraging behaviour lol.
But you see when we are rejected, ignored or despised we are in good company.
We are called to go forth without the camp. To minister and serve from a position of weakness and rejection and in many cases with very little encouragement and support. Hebrews 13v12-14.
Such was our Lord's ministry. He was despised and rejected of men a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53v3)
He said a Prophet has no honour in his own country and among his own kin.
The first time He ministered, in His own town of Nazareth, they marvelled at His gracious words, when He took the scroll and read from Isaiah 61. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.
When He told them, This day is this Word fulfilled in your ears they remembered who He was, the illegitimate Son of Mary and that sealed it. When He told them other things that they didn't want to hear, their marvelling soon turned to hatred and they were going to throw Him over the hill. Talk about fickle!!
Noah preached for 100+ years (120) and only 8 people out of several million heard and were saved and they were his own family!
Ezekiel was told, that because of the rebellious hearts and stiff necks of the people of Israel, they wouldn't hear or receive the message but that he had to preach it anyway. This before he preached one word!
You see we are living in the days, when people are turning their ears away from the truth unto fables and heaping to themselves teachers who will tickle their ears and tell them what they want to hear. 2 Timothy 4v3&4. Why do you think the prosperity and seeker friendly gospels are so popular.
The reality is, we are seeing the great falling away or apostasia happening before our eyes, one of the 2 signs along with the revealing of the AntiChrist that must happen before the Lord returns to gather us unto Himself. 2 Thessalonians 2v3.
No, many will depart from the faith. Why? Because they will give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. 1 Timothy 4v1.
You see it's the message that's important not the messenger.
John the Baptist is the prime example. Behold I send my messenger before my face who will prepare the way before me. Malachi 3v1. He prepared the way and then had his head chopped off by Herod. What a reward!
But again, it was the message that was important, not the messenger.
The message God is sending forth in this day, is not for the many, it is for the few. The remnant who the Lord our God shall call.
Gideon's army started with 32,000 was whittled down to 10,000 then at the waters of separation became 300. God saves with the few and He is separating the few unto Himself in these days.
500 were invited to tarry in the Upper Room. Only 120 did. Imagine missing out of what the 120 experienced!
The road is narrow and few there be that find it.
That's the reality. Many are called but few are chosen.
The Lord will make sure that people are given a chance to hear and respond. We are all then accountable and will give answer for what we did about what we heard.
But make no mistake only few will hear and will receive the call to follow Christ outside the camp , bearing His reproach, shame and rejection. Hebrews 13v11-14
The message and not the messenger is what matters - just ask John the Baptist.
